Red is not Green . . . Yet

I was at Target the other day and had my Savior Bag on top of all the stuff I was buying. As I’m putting my credit card in the machine to pay, the checker started inspecting my bag and looking for a UPC code to swipe. I smiled and said, “Oh, that’s my bag.” She apologized and gave the bag back to me. I laughed and handed it back to her, explaining how I wanted her to put my purchases in my Savior Bag. She kind of looked at me in a puzzled way that said she clearly didn’t understand. “I don’t want to use plastic bags because I’m trying to save the earth.” I continued. “I’d like you to put all my stuff in this bag instead of using plastic, please.” When she was done, she commented on how cool it was that all of my purchases fit in one bag. She admitted she would have probably used 3 or 4 plastic bags to pack up everything. Then she asked me where she could get one!

Grocery stores are getting used to seeing customers bring in their reusable bags but others – like Target – are still adjusting to the green movement. I’d love to hear about your experiences using Savior Bags – send us your stories!
